High School Reunion

I have reunited with most of my high school class and it's truly been great to chat with them. I'm not a graduate of my class but it sure feels like it. I couldn't feel more excepted or more welcomed to have their embrace. The reason that I didn't graduate is because I didn't keep my mind focused and wasn't concentrating much on the future. I was very naive and made plenty of mistakes. While my class was graduating, I chose to raise my child at the time and thought that I could go back to school later. I wish that I hadn't made that mistake of getting pregnant but it was nothing that I could do to change it. But I have my Diploma and I did pursue furthering my education but wish that I hadn't let so much time past me by. The only thing that I regret is that I missed out on all of the fun that I should have been having at that time. Through mistakes and experiences, you do learn from them. If I could turn back the hands of time I would do it all over again but the right way. I am so glad to see everyone doing great. My advice to anyone and to my own children is to not take life for granted and life is what you make it. Although I don't have a Bachelors or Masters, BA or LCSW, I feel like I'm all of those rolled into one because God has given me the gift and talent to write about it. Like they say, a picture says a thousand words and I have a million. I love to inspire people to work towards their dreams and never give up hope. It doesn't matter if some people may feel that because your not as educated as they are or as smart as they are, no one can take away your sense of who you are. Strive for the best, strive to the limit and keep "God" first in everything that you do because in the end he is the victor. To Yours Truly. Thanks My Ram Family.

All Is Well

Hi everybody I know that you might feel that I have abandoned you but I have been doing a lot. Father,Son, Brother

It's not very often that you see this day being celebrated by a lot of men of color. Why? Because the term estranged seem to fit a lot of fathers in the world today. Many of our brother's, son's and fathers grew up without one and when another man had to step in and finish what another man has started. Being a father is a very tough job and I would like to see more fathers engaging in the up bringing of their children. Don't let another child be another statistic and give them what they rightfully deserve and that's a father in each and everyone of their lives. A love and bond between father and child is a bond that can never be broken. Save time, save a life be a Father to your child. So on this very day I salute to all of my father's,son's, and brother's a Happy Father's Day!

Love Don't Live Here Anymore

A lot of women seem to have given up on love. Remember when you first fell in love and you really didn't know what It meant for your heart to be beating fast or you get really scared when you saw the guy that you wanted to be your boyfriend. Well, we called that puppy love. Love is the most wonderful feeling when you can experience it. I mean the real thing. Love today is kind of phony. People throw the word around so carelessly. Back in the day, people didn't say the word unless they meant it. Today people use it to get what they want.

Being in love, I remember it like a fairytale with no ending. My first love, I never wanted it to end. I thought I was going to be with that person forever. Unfortunately, you don't. I envy people who still have true love for each other even after many years together. You always want that kind of love. Love that last forever. Do you remember when love concored all?. Nothing was going to stop you for loving that man or loving that woman. Nobody could tell you that they were wrong for you and sometimes you were probably ready to fight someone for them. This was the only person that will ever love you that way and you weren't about to let anyone get in your way. What ever happened to it. People started taking love for granted and was losing good men and good women because each thought that the other wasn't going anywhere anyway. Well, you were wrong.

It's the two thousands and women are saying that they would rather be single than to have a broken heart. What can you tell me about your first experience or experiences with love?

We've Come Too Far To Turn Back Now.....

I think that the signs are inevitable. What we have embraced ourselves for is not only going to happen but is sure to come. This movement will have an impact for decades to come and I believe will withstand and endure a lifetime of progress. To suit all americans, it will be a journey that most have anticipated and awaited for a very long time. Conciseness and formality is intrusive to put forth coming efforts to change this world and to change this country.

Presumptive Presidential Nominee "Barack Obama"

Despite the intentions to draw down, discourage and demonize people by fear mongering, distortion and irrationality. Our Democratic Presumptive Nominee, "Barack Obama" has secured the nomination. I couldn't be more proud more confident that he will be an exceptional President and Commander in Chief. Obstacles can never forfeit "The Audacity of Hope". That's why I believe that dreams do come true. There is no greater way to express the overwhelming feeling of accomplishment than to realize that hope can lead you to the path of success. That hope can inspire you to reach higher limits. What hope has done for me is uncommentary. It has driven me to a higher height of achieving my determination to succeed. Although, humps and bumps will continue to drag behind us we must look forward to what will align us and that is to never give up hope!

United We Stand Divided We Fall

After the Nominee is chosen at the end of this years 2008 election, we shall be unified as a people but doubts still arise among cultures regarding race and sexism. Can we really believe that a change is going to come or is it just a myth, a ploy or another political stunt. That is a question that ceases to be answered. What we all have seen throughout this campaign is the same divisiveness that has destroyed us for centuries and continues through a new millennium. We are all destined for change but how does change become about. you will still have many that will prefer things just the way they are and it doesn't benefit us all. When the question comes about what is most important for this country we should all have an answer that it's what's best for the people of this country. Many phenomenal people has fought and died for this country but we all have fought and died together. What do you think it will take to turn this world around? What do you think some people are afraid of and why is one judgement considered for all? Doesn't everyone wants poverty to end. As rich of a nation we are and as powerful of a country we are there should be equality and prosperity for everyone if we want it. Peace does not begin unless someone is willing to forgive and forgiveness doesn't happen unless it is displayed with the utmost sincerity. My hope and my dream is that we can all get along and love one another as our brothers and sisters as it was meant to be. How many are willing to and how many won't?

My Pet Peeves

1.When people talk in your face and know that they didn't brush their teeth this morning.
2.When people call you and forget what they called you for.
3.When people have been invited to your party and don't invite you to theirs but ate your food,drinked your liquor and took a plate home when they didn't even bring anything.
4.When people need to borrow money from you, but when you need to borrow money, they say I don't have it and just got paid.
5.When women ask your man to cut their grass or fix something around their house and their man is inside sleeping.
6.When somebody ask you for a ride and they have a car but don't want to buy gas and don't offer you a dime.
7.When somone forts and look around as if they didn't do it.
8.When someone belches or forts and don't say excuse.
9.When your shopping in the isle and people act like they don't see you and just walk on through and don't even say excuse.
10.When your shopping and every isle that you go down you see the same damm person.
11.When someone sees your about to park and cut in quick and try not to look at you because they know your madd.
12.When your in line at the store and the lane says 10 items or less and someone brings two baskets and try to check out.
13.When your impatient in line and move to another and another lane opens and the cashier says next in line everybody bum rushes the lane and you still have to wait.
14.When people stunt like they have money and goes with you into a store and asks you for $3.00 to buy some toilet paper.
15.When people go to the dollar store and can't buy a .50 cent pack of gum.
16.When someone's breath stink and you ask them do they want a mint and they say no!
17.When money is being penned on the birthday girl somebody says, all I have is some change.
18.When men try to wrap on you and use the same line, you must have wings because I see an angel.
19.When your on the highway and someone is cussing at you but you can't hear them because the windows up and the radios on.
20.When people pop up at your house uninvited and get mad when you pop up at theirs.

LOVE VS DESTINY POEM

Sometimes when my heart skips a beat I not only wonder if it will stop
because the thought of you makes my skin fill with goose bumps but yet I wonder.....
Is this love because I've got a feeling that comes over me that just sends my mind into space, sort of like a chase but I have to catch up but can I.....
No, I can't deny what I feel I think that it's love but is it really?
Destiny fulfills my inner weakness because I know that we were meant to be but as I look I can over see that destiny submisses to love which stirs and brews into an overwhelming thunder that sparks a lightening that burns the fire
But, is it love or is it destiny?
What ever it shall be I don't want it to end because it is my every want, my every need that I must grant myself the satisfaction of pleasure that remains lingering for moments at a time. Love overpowers destiny. I have to give in. Love vs destiny.....Love wins.

Very Superstitious

Why do some people believe in superstition? Do you know what it means when your eye twitch or your foot itch. Some people believe that these are some sort of signs that suppose to mean certain things. Like when your right hand itch it means that money is coming to you. When you mention someone by name by mistake that someone is talking about you. When your nose itches your telling a lie. I really don't believe in superstition but I know that when my eye twitch that something is going to happen but I just don't know if it's good or bad or when it's going to happen. Almost every time that my eye twitch this is the case. So do you believe in superstition and if you do state some of them.

Forgive and Forget

I know that this is a statement that's a little understated but give it half a chance. I know that many of us can find it in our hearts to forgive but rarely forget. That's OK. Just learning to put whatever it was that weighed in on you for so long can be your choice to put it behind you. No matter how difficult it may be don't let it defeat you. Sometimes we can be so stubborn because we don't want to be the one to say I'm sorry first but pride will eat you alive. You will find more comfort and relief to just let it go and move on. Start another chapter in your life that's going to be different from the last one. It's never too late to change. Find joy in your life and peace in your heart. Let tomorrow be a new day and a brighter day. Remember that life is too short. Be willing to forgive as we are forgiven. Look at the brighter side and make your judgement. "One day your here and the next day your gone". Peace.

Classy Or Trashy

I can remember it was a time that I was so tom boyish, you could not get me to wear a skirt or dress ever. Well, times has really changed because we show through maturity that nature has a way of letting our feminism kick in. As we age we grow older and sometimes wiser. We learn that we must adapt to the ever changing world and society. Today I love to wear a dress to show my silhouettes and a skirt to show off my sexy legs. The way you present yourself in the way that you look and dress tells a lot about a person and the type of people you will attract and that's a fact. If you want to put it through the test it's very simple. Dress in business attire and go to a place like a coffee Cafe' or restaurant and see the responses you will get. Now, dress in jeans and some slip-on's and go to a similar place and watch the opposite. It's all about character. It benefits us all to show a little class and ditch the trash.

Lift Every Voice

There is a way that we all can do things to be heard. Action speaks much louder than words. If we show a common purpose to see some dramatic changes in this world, we have to stick together and pull together to get it done. If we all understand that we must all embrace each other at a significant time in our lives where things are about to drastically change our way of living. If you look at the economy and the people who will be most affected by it then we must act accordingly before we are all submerged by incompetence. We must all let go of the animosity that we may feel towards one another, let go of the ignorance and jealously that we all have been conditioned to show towards our own kind and come together. As pastor R.C. Blake always said is that we are the only race on the planet that have a hard time supporting each other to get ahead. I think that it's time for us to move forward and think like other races do. Keep it in the family as they say. We can help build more businesses and employ more of our people if we shop with our own kind. I think that we would have more businesses if we stop shopping with the neighbor because we think that it's a better deal but you have to remember that other businesses get the tax breaks that we don't. So what if it's a little bit higher we need it more than they do. Support our people, support our lives and support our businesses. Lift every voice and we will see the resounding joy that will prosper from it.

Weight Management Update

Two weeks ago when I announced that I started managing my weight I lost so far only five pounds. Although that's not a really big number I am proud to at least see the scale move. I want to lose at least two pounds per week but it's a little tricky because you have to burn as much calories as you eat. So when your calorie intake is not at the amount for your body weight , you could actually gain weight stored as fat but you may see a decrease in weight because you have lost some muscle. It's all about understanding your body and how it loses weight. Losing weight is different for everybody because everybody's body is different. Keep Your Head Up

Although times may be hard it will presumably get harder. Unfortunately we do not have control over certain life's events but we certainly have control over our faith and destiny. We can move forward with our beliefs and persistence to overcome obstacles that may be thrown our way. We can stand up as citizens and do the right thing. We, as women of this universe can be the back bones of strengthening our core intellects. We can move in ways that speaks out louder than any voice that can be heard. We are dominant when it comes to perseverance. We are strong in multiples, concise in dept of inferiority. My advice is to maintain your strength, your composure and morality and keep your heads up.

Managing Your Money

I have learned a very significant lesson about finances. Debt is always going to be in your life at some point or another. People stress over it but it's truly nothing that you can do about it. all the debt and collection agencies can do is wait until you can pay them. It may affect your "FICO SCORE" or "CREDIT SCORE" but you can improve it as soon as you start paying them again and on time. It's not worth the heart attack or stroke or even your health, period. Material things can always be replaced but a life can't. You really can make the most of your finances by limiting spending to things that you basically need like food, household items etc. Buy in small quantities and as you need them. Put a little on the side, if you can for a rainy day; it is good for emergencies like to pay for medicine or co-payments. For people who have never shopped second hand or thrift, this may be a good time to start. I am a thrift shopper and I find really great items, some never been touched at great low prices. You may choose to shop at a resale boutique for name brand second hand items that are in excellent condition, but it's a little more expensive. You can still find name brand items at a local thrift store. Don't purchase big ticketed items that you can't afford or can't fit into your budget like a car or house. This kind of debt can really send you over the edge because you really want to own your own home; everybody does but it may not be the best option if you don't have at least a 30% down payment, at least $3000 for unexpected repairs and money to have your home appraised. Having that kind of down payment builds immediate equity in case you should get behind on your mortgage. Buying a car that you can't afford is a little bit different because you can make a deal with the dealership to sell or buy back your car only if you are not behind on your payments. So, debt can really be avoided if you just make wise decisions on whether or not you can afford it.

No Money, No Honey

We all, as ladies, sometimes keep a lock on what we know our man wants but we just brutalize him by putting a combination on the lock. Yeah, I said it. We withhold sex from our man because he has to come with the ends. It would be surprising if you have never done this before. It's a way of getting what we want and them getting what they want. We don't really have to in some cases but we do it to see if it's going to get us what we want,Hey.....Some of us don't believe that everything in life is free not even the coochie. So if he ain't acting right you know what to do but sometimes it can be a risk because he can go elsewhere. But if he's truly a good man don't be too hard on him. The saying is that it's a two way street. Is it?

There's No Me Without You

Some of the best things in life are free and the cost of love is priceless. Money can't buy you love or happiness it's all about being happy with yourself first. If you don't think that you are the shit, then no one else will think that you are the shit. Be true to yourself and all other things will fall into place. It's ok to put on a little make up on when your lounging around the house and it's ok to feel sexy in the morning. Doing things that makes you happy makes you feel better about yourself whatever it may be. We don't need someone to complete us, it's all within ourselves. I occasionally take a movie by myself or treat myself to a breakfast or dinner. I try to do something different each time to be distint. Love is not a choice, it's a feeling and you love people for who they are and for how they make you feel. Love is not based on looks or physique because that fades away with age. When you can feel what's in someone's heart, then you have felt the feeling of true love.

It's Your Opinion

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion but it's ok to disagree with it. It's part of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We are not going to always agree with one's opinion on a number of things but it's always good to keep an open mind about what the opinion is. Remember there's two sides to every story and it would be wrong to take sides or to not get the facts first. Keeping an open mind about an opinion can save you some embarrassment of judging others without good cause.

What About Your Friends

How do you know that you can trust your friends? Well, that's a question that you will have to ask yourself. What type of friends that you prefer. Ideally we all would like to have friends that we can trust. Some friends have an agenda to want to be your friend in the first place that agenda depends totally on what you observe about them. Can you depend on your friend(s) when you really need them the most? Are they thoughtful when it comes to things like birthdays, holidays and important issues etc.? Sometimes it is worth putting them through the test. Remember, your friends will be there whenever you need them. They will have your back at all times. Friends will never talk about you to other friends.
Friends will always give honest advise and would never steer you wrong. An honest friend will tell you something that they think is significant to you regardless if it may hurt your feelings without intention. Good friends are the ones that you would want to keep around because a good friend is hard to find. So what about your friends..........

For Heavens Sake

When I come home late evenings I just want to hit the door and take the nearest sofa. Another tiresome day at work is just killing me. I just want to unwind on my day off but we all know that that irritating phone is going to just ring. Ring.... ring.... Can someone just take the phone off of the hook for heavens sake. Later when you check the messages after having your rest disturbed, It's your boss that has left you a message saying that they need you to come in to work someone Else's shift. That's why I made it my business to tell them that I have yoga classes on my days off so call someone else please(lying). Just the other day a co-worker and I were having an hour lunch in the lounge when my boss again came and said that we have to cut our lunch to an half hour because we had VIP people visiting the store and we needed to get back to work to arrange some displays. What a fluke. Am I making mega bucks here, noa, I really don't think so......
So should you have the right to tell your boss that you really don't think that's in you job description and if it isn't, would you quit? hummmmm.

Going Home To New Orleans

Famous for it's taste and flowered sugar; you can get these by the dozens. "Benet's', a french name but we call them a different kind of donut. Cafe Du' Monde' is where New Orleanians stop for Benet's and Latte in the French Market near the River Walk. They are always delicious to eat.

This is the "Street Car" known to run through the city of New Orleans from Canal Street, down Baronne to St. Charles Avenue and Carrollton. Taking a ride on the street car was always an experience. Some of the most famous people today has taken a ride on the street car. If your ever visiting the city, try the ride and feel the experience.

As you all know that New Orleans was hit by one of the most devastating Hurricanes ever "Katrina". A hurricane that will forever instill the remembrance of lives and memories lost. Communities that are still struggling to survive and rebuild. My people, as I shall put it, were people of yesterday, today and tomorrow. A loving family and community of children, families and culture that will never be forgotten. "I Love New Orleans". My family and I will be planning to go home to visit this summer but I wish that it was the same New Orleans That I knew before Katrina. Going home will always be a reminder of the beautiful city as it was. The culture, food, fun and entertainment is what I miss the most. I really wish that we can go back home someday. Our roots, our love our home.

Talk Is Cheap

A lot of times you will encounter people who will make you promises that turn out to be false. That's why I say that a real person matches his words with action. Trust is something that is earned and when you don't keep your promises the more likely that someone won't take you up on your word the next time around. Remember if you are in doubt; don't make promises that you can't keep.

Health and Happiness

I started managing my weight two weeks ago and I'm coming along pretty well I'd say. It's really not that easy but I just take it one day at a time. My motivation is my beautiful gown that I wish that I could wear once again. That dress is a size 10 and I will fit in it again. I loved the way that I looked and felt when I was this weight. I got plenty of compliments especially from my husband.
I was more active, I felt more beautiful and confident and I looked great in clothes. I'm sure that everyone has had their battles with weight at some point in time and it can be discouraging at times; but I'm here to tell you to not give up because you are doing great. Find something that motivates you to keep going like my dress. You can do it! I am here to help you if you need it. Try to minimize your stress levels by taking some quiet time to relax and meditate in a quiet setting. Remember it's not what you eat; It's how much you eat. A great thing that works for me is the treadmill. If you don't have one try to invest in one. I purchased mine second hand at a thrift store for much less than what I would have paid for a new one.
Even if you don't have a treadmill, try ankle and/or wrist weights. Dumbbells are also great for toning. Map out a plan to do at least 30 minutes of some kind of activity a day i.e, walking, bike riding etc. Drink plenty of water as you can get dehydrated while working out or exercising and we don't want to become light headed. Doing just a few basic exercises like jump rope, jumping jacks, squats and lifting weights can burn a good amount of calories and fat. Stick to portion size of foods combined with fruit and vegetables throughout the day. I'm not a breakfast person so a right size shake or slim fast protein shake satisfies my hunger for at least four hours. Healthy snacking is great but I don't deprive myself when I have a little craving. Stay focused and determined and you will see results.

I'm Every Woman

I am every woman from the tip of my fingers, down to my toes, from my soft lips to the tip of my nose

I have to keep it real. I am every woman because I keep the the food on the table, the children settled, pay all of the bills; on time....house keeping and still find time for pleasin'.

I'm every woman because I complain when I'm not getting enough attention so I take the credit card and go shopping to sooth my loneliness.

I'm every woman because I'm never too tired to give you what you want or what you need I just ask that you do the same.

I'm every woman because I don't complain when you fall asleep after great S.E.X.

I'm every woman because I know that I can cheat; but I don't, and I know that I can have any man that I want.

So if you're hearing what I saying you betta have your game tight and this is for all of you fellas that ain't right.........
